My Cards

Okay - I know a lot of people are making their own cards at the moment.  And there are a lot of people selling these cards on eBay and other such sites.

Firstly a lot of these people buy "kits" and make the cards as per the instructions in the kit.  Then there are another selection of people who purchase card making equipment and then make their cards using this widely available merchandise.

I am not saying that these people do not put their own artistic slant on the cards that they produce but it does make all things seem the same, with one card looking very similar to another.  Especially when they use the same materials.

There is a third group of people who input art into their card making.  Either by using materials which are not pre-purchased specifically for card making or actually creating a card that is as individual as them.  These people "create" cards.  This is the group that I fall into.

I have two types of card:

• Cards which are totally designed by me - art work, design and verse - for these I own the copyright in totality

• Cards which are designed by me in layout and verse but using recycled materials or jokes - this means that I share the copyright with another artist.

In general the only cards that I produce that fall into the second category are Christmas cards (as these have usually been made with recycled Christmas cards) and Birthday cards (as these usually have jokes on them and I did not "invent" the joke).  But that is not to say that the way that these cards have been arranged are not with my artistic slant.  The way they are arranged is totally all me.

The Professional ME

Below are a selection of cards that I have for sale.  Each of these will only cost you £2.00 delivered*.  They will NOT be supplied in cellophane wraps as these are not easily recycled and so I am not happy using them.  They will however come in an envelope with a piece of card in to protect them in the post.

Each will be supplied with either a standard verse or custom verse for a little extra (only £0.50, so please feel free to email me about this).

And this is where it can really get interesting.  I can arrange for the card of your choice to be sent DIRECT to the intended recipient.  This will only be sent by recorded delivery for an extra £0.63.  As an extra bonus - gift vouchers for can be provided in these cards (from £7, again, please email me about this).

I feel I need to justify the £2.00 minimum* for you, so here goes:

• Because of the new postal prices (based on weight and size) it will cost more than the £0.48 pence for a large letter to send in the mail

• I do actually purchase some materials: envelopes; inks etc

• You are not driving into your local town to purchase a card (and gift voucher) for your intended recipient.  With the rising costs of fuel even a small round trip of 10 miles in an average car doing 35mpg will cost you £1.41 (and we are not including the parking fee)

• So when you take away these costs you are only actually paying me - personally - very little

* I am doing deals on Christmas Cards.  Because of the materials ore time taken I cannot justify £2.00 for one card delivered -therefore you will get  four cards for £2.25 delivered.  However - if you wish these to be sent direct, customised or include and gift vouchers this will of course cost extra.  Please email about this.
