A long time ago - in the land when I
was young, I was married to a man who had a passion for cars. To be more
specific Mustang cars. Yes - those big muscle cars that have been made
famous by such films as 'Gone in 60 Seconds' (both versions) and 'Diamonds are
Forever'. As his passion grew he joined the Mustang Owners Club of Great
Britain (MOCGB) and then became an Area Secretary.
One day a local member called saying
that they had problems with not getting their magazine. I was the person
who answered the phone and so I said I would help. I call another club
official and they mentioned that things were all a bit in the air because the
membership secretary had to stop. It was then that I volunteered (well you
know - if you can't beat them, join them) saying that I would help out if I had
a computer. I didn't know at the time but the club had just bought a PC -
it was a 386! Agh, those were the days
And so I became the membership
secretary of the MOCGB. And that was the start of me learning how to: use
a computer; organise paperwork; database management; emails; word. Yes -
all those things that I use everyday at work. |
