A Bit About Me

A long time ago - in the land when I was young, I was married to a man who had a passion for cars.  To be more specific Mustang cars.  Yes - those big muscle cars that have been made famous by such films as 'Gone in 60 Seconds' (both versions) and 'Diamonds are Forever'.  As his passion grew he joined the Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain (MOCGB) and then became an Area Secretary.

One day a local member called saying that they had problems with not getting their magazine.  I was the person who answered the phone and so I said I would help.  I call another club official and they mentioned that things were all a bit in the air because the membership secretary had to stop.  It was then that I volunteered (well you know - if you can't beat them, join them) saying that I would help out if I had a computer.  I didn't know at the time but the club had just bought a PC - it was a 386! Agh, those were the days

And so I became the membership secretary of the MOCGB.  And that was the start of me learning how to: use a computer; organise paperwork; database management; emails; word.  Yes - all those things that I use everyday at work.

The Fun ME Now - the first thing that you will have to remember about the MOCGB is that it is run by a set of people that are passionate about the Mustang brand, and they are volunteers.  The time that they spend working on the great magazine that they produce; and the hard work processing the memberships (new and renewal); and the professional website with the hugely popular forum that attracts people from all over the world; or that great annual show that they put together with judging and merchandise is all time that is taken out of their lives.  So you will have to forgive them if they decided to spend a weekend doing family stuff rather than help you out.  It's not that they don't want to help you because they do.  It's just that their families can apply some of that family pressure that can be demanding.  And it does succeed on occasion to pull them away from the Mustangs that they love.

And then, remembering all of that, be amazed that they still manage to do all of that and still have a life.

So I have put two links to the left, one to the MOCGB website and the other is direct to the forum as mentioned above.  And in the Life in Pictures link - some Mustangs that were owned by my ex-husband and I.

I do still have an interest in the club - I moderate on the forum.  Still a volunteer - I must still have a soft spot for the Mustang
