The Official Bristol CityFootball Club Band
The band started its first full season at Ashton Gate in the 2000/01 season. The band first started in February, in the 1999/2000 Division 2 season. In that season we had the best start ever possible. In April the band had the privilege to play at Wembley stadium in the Auto Windscreens Shield Final against Stoke. This gained us our first sponsorship. The band was founded in January when the Community Dept at Bristol City advertised wanting people to play in a Band. This was advertised through a monthly magazine called Gatepost. So out came all the people interested and the members had arrived. Within two practices together, the Bristol City Band had arrived. We made our debut in the Auto Windscreens Shield Quarter Final against Reading (2000) where believe it or not the first game we played in, Bristol City won 4-0. It was a fantastic start for all of us.
