Please respect own rinks
All playing members are responsible for
the safekeeping of the clubs bowling green,
in particular against damage caused by the
poor delivery of woods. Members found to
be damaging the green will be asked to seek
advice from the club coach who will assist
with delivery technique. Permission to
continue bowling shall be at the discretion
of the coach. Protection mats are available
and must be used when necessary - skips
to ensure compliance. Members witnessing
damage to the green , by club members or
visitors, should inform their skip and or
the match captain at the first opportunity.
Just replacing a divot does not help.
6. The only player to enter the head are the
number Three's all others should keep away
unless called upon to assist.
7. Number Three should observe every bowl
delivered and indicate to the skip any change
that has taken place.
8. When a measure is taking place, be quiet,
noise is distracting.
9. Do not remove any bowl from the head
unless you are asked to do so.
10. Do not bump your bowls in delivery, it
damages the green.
11. When placing the jack do it with your hand
not your foot.
12. Pay attention during play, it is the only way
to learn the game.
1. Do stand well behind an opponent
in the act of delivery.
2. Remember the mat is not yours
until the delivered bowl has come to
rest.
3. When it is your turn to bowl, stand
on the mat and look to your skip for
instructions prior to delivery. Remain
on the mat until you have seen the
result of your delivery.
4. When standing at the head, stand
still, movement distracts.
5. Stand behind the head and not to
the side, the rule states "behind the
furthest bowl" this is not always
possible but do stand as far back as
you can in a sensible position.
