Born: 1829 Died: 1928 Spouse: Margaret Morrison Children: Mary Miller, Hannah Miller, William Miller, John Miller, Joseph Miller, Charles Miller, Elizabeth Miller Occupation: Caster Joseph Miller was one of the first to be fitted with false teeth. He lived to the ripe old age of 99, a rarity in those days. He was able to do a clog dance on the table in his 90s and died only after breaking a leg while out quarrying for rubbing stone, as befitted an old miner. The stone, often used to decorate household steps in curious designs reputed to ward off evil spirits, was sold in his daughter's shop. |
