Say goodbye to Spam forever!

 Recently my Outlook Express downloaded 75 junk emails, each with a 250kb attachment (some possibly malicious - I think it may have been the SirCam virus.). It took over four hours to download this junk and completely ruined my day!. That is why I decided to write Spam Killer, With this program I could have inspected these junk mails directly on my mail server and deleted them within seconds. Now I always use Spam Killer to check which email I want to download before using my usual email programs. This saves me hours of valuable time every week and also gives me great protection from virii and worms.

Permanent Log File Feature

SpamKiller records all transactions in a dynamic log file. The details of each session are appended to a text file, spamkiller.log, leaving the details of previous sessions intact. You can delete all or part of the log file at any time. SpamKiller will create the log file if it does not exist. On a PC the log file can be viewed with MSDOS Edit, Wordpad or Word. You can now add your own comments to incoming mail as the text area is "editable".

Extra features

Automatic email checking

A period check for email can be made at a frequency determined by you, for example, every 60 seconds, 120 seconds - in fact, any time interval you desire. If you want to study the contents of the display area, you can turn checking off at the click of a button.

Play your own sound files

 Four separate sound files can be played while the program is running:
  • a welcome file to signal succesful connection to your email server
  • a gotmail file to signal the presense of email
  • a gotnomail file to signal the absense of email
  • a goodbye file played on exiting SpamKiller
Several sound files are included in the download. You can, of course, use your own sound files. Java2 1.2 accepts the following formats: WAV, AU, MIDI, AIFF, and RMF. Or, if you prefer, you can omit some or all of the sound files.

 SpamKiller is a Java application program, not an applet, so you will need a copy of the Java Development Kit (JDK) or Java Runtime Environment (JRE), Version 1.1 or higher on your PC or workstation.
